Product Overview

The P430 is a wired network camera in Reolink’s PoE series. It offers an official resolution of 3840x2160 (8MP) @25fps, with an f=2.7-13.5mm lens; F=1.6-3.3 (IR cut). It is designed as a fixed-installation solution where one network cable handles both power and video transmission. No separate power outlet is needed at the camera location, and there is no frame dropping caused by wireless interference.

8MP Image Quality and Lens

The P430 has an official resolution of 3840x2160 (8MP) @25fps, with an f=2.7-13.5mm lens; F=1.6-3.3 (IR cut).

The field of view is horizontal 105°-31° ／ vertical 55°-17°. This is a standard lens design: with the same lens, a narrower viewing angle delivers clearer distant details but covers a smaller area at once; a wider viewing angle covers more area, at the cost of greater edge distortion and less detail at a distance.

In practice, measure the distance from the installation point to the target first, then decide whether to install the camera higher or lower. The actual ground coverage can differ significantly when the same camera is installed at 2.8 metres versus 3.5 metres high.

Infrared Night Vision and Full-Colour Night Vision

P430 infrared night vision: up to 30 metres; 4 infrared LEDs / 28mil / 850nm.

Full-colour night vision: supported, with 5 spotlights / 4W / 6500K / 450 lumens. Infrared footage is black and white, offering discreet operation without startling passers-by. Full-colour night vision uses spotlights for illumination, helping retain colour information such as clothing and vehicle colours when needed, which is genuinely useful for identification afterwards.

During installation, avoid pointing the lens directly at a white wall or metal awning, as reflected infrared light may cause overexposure in the centre of the image while making the surrounding area difficult to see. If this cannot be avoided, tilting the camera down by 10 to 15 degrees usually provides a noticeable improvement.

Smart Detection and Notifications

The P430 supports person, vehicle, animal and motion detection. Detection is completed on the camera, and notifications are pushed only when the selected target category is detected. This filters out common sources of false alerts from traditional motion detection, such as rain, swaying tree shadows and changes in lighting.

Notifications can be enabled or disabled individually. If you want to receive person alerts but do not want to be woken by cats or dogs at night, simply turn off animal detection notifications while continuing to retain the recordings. Settings can be adjusted for each camera in the Reolink App.

When recording with a microSD card or NVR, you can tap the notification to view the relevant clip directly, without manually dragging through the timeline.

PoE Power and Network Connection

P430 power specification: IEEE 802.3af, 48V Active. One network cable supplies power and transmits video simultaneously, so no separate power cable or outlet is needed at the camera location. This is the cleanest solution for locations such as exterior walls, ceilings and village-house rooftops where there is a network connection but no power outlet.

The network interface is 1× 10M/100Mbps RJ45. Power can be supplied by a PoE-compatible Reolink NVR or a standalone PoE Switch (which must comply with the standards listed above).

The practical advantage of a wired connection is stable bandwidth: wireless cameras may experience frame drops and latency when multiple people watch live video simultaneously or when there is heavy interference from nearby Wi-Fi networks, whereas PoE does not.

Storage, Playback and Backup

P430 storage options: microSD up to 256GB; compatible with Reolink NVR.

The microSD option is suitable for scenarios where only a few days of footage need to be retained and a single camera is the main focus. An NVR is better for multiple cameras, retaining footage for several weeks, or reviewing footage from multiple angles at once. Both can be used together: microSD as a backup and NVR as the primary storage.

We recommend using a surveillance-grade microSD card with high write endurance and resistance to high and low temperatures. Regular phone microSD cards can easily fail after several months of continuous writing, and card failure usually occurs without warning.

App, Two-Way Talk and Remote Viewing

P430 audio: built-in microphone and speaker (supports two-way audio).

In the Reolink App, press and hold the talk button to speak to people on-site. This is useful for receiving deliveries at the door, reminding customers in a shop, or asking someone to move a vehicle from a parking space.

Remote viewing is available through the Reolink App (iOS／Android). Multiple cameras can be added to the same account, with split-screen viewing supported. You can also create sub-accounts with viewing-only access, without permission to change settings or delete recordings.
