The P340 is a Bullet camera. The significance of 12MP is not simply that the image looks “better”, but that people and objects remain identifiable at a distance: when covering the same 20-metre area, an 8MP camera may only show that someone is present at the edges of the frame, while 12MP can distinguish clothing and vehicle models.

The official resolution is 12MP 6K (4512×2512), with a frame rate of 20fps and a 4.0mm lens.

The field of view is 93° horizontal ／ 49° vertical. Before installation, measure the distance from the mounting point to the target. The actual coverage can differ significantly when the same camera is installed at a height of 2.5 metres versus 3.5 metres.

Night Vision and Full-Color Mode

During installation, avoid pointing the lens directly at a white wall or metal awning. Otherwise, reflected fill light may cause overexposure in the centre of the image while making the surroundings harder to see. If this cannot be avoided, tilting the camera downward by 10 to 15 degrees will usually provide a noticeable improvement.

Smart Detection and Mobile Notifications

Supported detection: people and vehicles. Detection is performed on the camera, and notifications are pushed only when the specified target categories are identified. This filters out false alarms caused by traditional motion detection, such as rain, tree shadows, and changes in lighting.

Notifications can be enabled or disabled individually. If you want to receive people detection alerts but do not want to be woken by cats or dogs at night, simply turn off animal detection notifications while keeping recording enabled.

When used with microSD or NVR recording, you can tap the notification to view the relevant clip directly, without manually dragging through the timeline.

PoE Power and Network Connection

The P340 uses PoE power (IEEE 802.3af／at): a single network cable supplies power and transmits video at the same time, so no separate power cable or socket is needed at the camera location.

The power source can be a PoE-compatible Reolink NVR or a standalone PoE Switch.

The practical advantage of a wired connection is stable bandwidth: wireless cameras may experience dropped frames or delays when multiple people are viewing live footage simultaneously or when there is heavy interference from nearby Wi-Fi networks, whereas PoE does not.

Storage, Playback and Backup

It supports local storage on a microSD card and can also be paired with a Reolink NVR for centralized recording. Neither option requires a monthly fee.

The microSD option is suitable for setups with mainly one camera where only a few days of footage need to be retained. The NVR option is suitable for multiple cameras, footage retention of several weeks, or reviewing footage from multiple angles at once.

We recommend using a surveillance-grade microSD card. Ordinary mobile phone cards can easily fail after several months of continuous writing, and failed cards usually provide no warning beforehand.

App, Two-Way Talk and Remote Viewing

Audio: Two-way audio. In the Reolink App, press and hold the talk button to speak to people on-site. This is useful for receiving parcels at the door or reminding customers in a shop.

Remote viewing is available through the Reolink App (iOS／Android). The same account can add multiple cameras and supports split-screen viewing and timeline playback.

You can also create sub-accounts with viewing-only permissions, without access to change settings or delete recordings—helping prevent someone from accidentally deleting footage segments.
