180° Dual-Lens Stitching — One Camera Does the Job of Two

The Duo 3 PoE uses two lenses to stitch together a horizontal view of Horizontal: 180°, with an official resolution of 7680x2160 (16MP) @ 20FPS. This solves the practical problem of a single wide-angle lens not being able to cover everything, while two cameras require two separate cables: one cable and one mounting position can cover an entire exterior wall or corridor.

The lens specifications are f=2.8mm/F1.6. The official field of view is Horizontal: 180° Vertical: 55°. The two image sensors capture their respective images before stitching them together, so the centre of the image will not appear stretched as it would with a single wide-angle lens.

During installation, it is important to keep the camera body level — the stitching is formed by the left and right lenses, so if the camera body is tilted, the seam will appear in the centre of the image. Post-installation adjustment can only straighten it, not eliminate it.

Higher Detail Density with Dual Lenses

With the same 8-megapixel resolution, a single wide-angle lens has to spread its pixels across 180°, resulting in less detail at a distance. The Duo 3 PoE distributes the load across two image sensors, giving each half a higher pixel density, so licence plates and faces remain identifiable even at the edges.

The official video compression formats are H.265/H.264. At the same image quality, files are smaller, allowing microSD cards and NVRs to record more hours of footage.

If you previously used a single wide-angle camera and often found that you could see someone but could not identify who it was, switching to a dual-lens camera is the most direct way to solve this problem.

Night Vision and Full-Colour Mode

Official infrared night vision: 30 meters (LED: 6pcs/20mil/850nm) (Auto-switching with IR-cut filter). Full-colour night vision: With spotlight: 8pcs/5W/6500K/560 Lumens.

Infrared footage is black and white, making it discreet and less likely to disturb passers-by; full-colour night vision uses a spotlight for illumination, preserving colour information such as clothing and vehicle colours, which is practically useful for subsequent identification.

During installation, avoid pointing the lens directly at a white wall or metal eave, as reflected infrared light can cause overexposure in the centre of the image and make the surroundings difficult to see. If this cannot be avoided, tilting the camera down by 10 to 15 degrees usually provides a noticeable improvement.

Smart Detection and Notifications

Duo 3 PoE smart detection: Motion detection; person detection; vehicle detection; animal detection.

Detection is completed on the camera, and notifications are pushed only when the selected target categories are detected. This filters out false alerts caused by rain, tree shadows and changes in lighting, which are common with traditional motion detection.

Notifications can be enabled or disabled individually: if you want to receive person alerts but do not want to be woken up by cats or dogs at night, simply turn off animal detection notifications; recording will continue as normal.

PoE Power and Network Connection

Power supply: IEEE 802.3af, 48V, active. A single network cable supplies power and transmits video simultaneously, so no power outlet is needed at the camera location. This is the cleanest solution for locations such as exterior walls, ceilings and village-house rooftops where a network connection is available but no power socket is present.

Network interface: 3. The power source can be a PoE-compatible Reolink NVR or a standalone PoE Switch.

The practical advantage of a wired connection is stable bandwidth: wireless cameras may drop frames or experience delays when multiple people are viewing live footage at the same time or when there is heavy interference from nearby Wi-Fi networks, whereas PoE does not.

Storage, Playback and Backup

Storage method: Supports Max. 512GB microSD card.

The microSD option is suitable for scenarios where you only need to retain footage for a few days and mainly use a single camera; an NVR is better for multiple cameras, retaining footage for several weeks, or reviewing footage from multiple angles at once.

A surveillance-grade microSD card is recommended. A regular phone-grade card can easily fail after several months of continuous writing, and failed cards usually give no warning.
