Product Overview
OMVI 3i PoE features a “two-in-one camera” design: the upper section uses dual 10MP lenses for a 180° panoramic view (5120×1920), while the lower section features an 8MP 4K PTZ camera (3840×2160, 6mm lens, 55° field of view, Pan 350°/Tilt 50°). Combined resolution: 18MP.
Its core value lies in SyncTrack: the panoramic lens continuously monitors the full 180° view. Once a person is detected, the PTZ lens automatically turns toward and zooms in on the target for tracking — the panoramic view is not lost when the PTZ rotates, which is the biggest weakness of traditional PTZ cameras.
All specifications on this page have been extracted field by field from the specifications table on Reolink’s official product page: 1/2.7"+1/2.8" sensors, 30-meter infrared range, 8 full-color 7W 6000K lights, PoE 802.3at(DC 12V 2A、<24W), 64 preset positions+1 guard position, microSD support up to 512GB, IP66, -10°C~+55°C, 202×151×125mm/1.3kg.

Triple-Camera Design: Why Two Sets of Lenses Are Needed
The problem with traditional PTZ cameras is that they can only “focus on one thing at the expense of another”: when the PTZ turns east to track someone, the west side becomes completely blind. OMVI 3i uses the dual lenses in the upper section to continuously monitor a fixed 180° panoramic view, while the PTZ in the lower section rotates only when detailed viewing is needed. Both operate simultaneously.
This means there are two views at any given moment: one panoramic view for the overall picture, and one close-up view of the target for detailed observation. Recording and playback are synchronized, so there is no need to match timestamps between two separate files.
- Continuous panoramic monitoring without blind spots
- Panoramic and close-up views at the same time
- No need to match timestamps across files
SyncTrack Auto Tracking in Practice
The official specifications list Sync Tracking and Auto Framing. Operating logic: the panoramic lens detects a person → calculates their position → the PTZ turns toward and zooms in on the target → continues following as the target moves → returns to the guard position after the target leaves.
The limitations should be clear: this uses a “single-target” tracking logic, so when multiple people are present, it locks onto one of them. If the target is obstructed(for example, while walking behind a vehicle), it may be temporarily lost and must be repositioned using the panoramic view. In practice, it greatly reduces the need for manual operation, but it does not replace human judgment.
- Single-target tracking logic
- The target may be temporarily lost when obstructed
- Greatly reduces manual operation
Pan 350°/Tilt 50° and Preset Positions
The PTZ range is Pan 350° and Tilt 50°, with support for 1 guard position and up to 64 preset positions. A Tilt range of only 50° is common among similar products — it is mainly intended for horizontal scanning and slight vertical tilting, not for viewing directly below the camera.
The 64 preset positions are highly practical for large sites: for example, a car park can be configured with “Entrance”, “Exit”, “Row A”, “Row B”, and other positions for one-click switching without manually dragging the screen.
- Tilt 50° is not designed for directly downward monitoring
- 64 preset positions are suitable for large sites
- Set a guard position for automatic return
The Roles of the 10MP Panoramic Camera and 8MP PTZ Camera
The upper section delivers 5120×1920(10MP), H 180°; the lower section delivers 3840×2160(8MP), H 55°/V 30° with a 6mm lens. These are not two crops of the same image, but separate sensors(1/2.7" and 1/2.8").
In practical terms: the panoramic camera is used to see “whether someone is present and where they are going”; when the PTZ zooms in to 55°, its effective field of view becomes much narrower, allowing a person in the distance to occupy a large number of pixels. This is the view genuinely intended for identification. This is also why the total resolution is listed as 18MP — the combined result of the two systems.
- Two Independent Sensors
- The panoramic camera monitors movement, while the PTZ camera captures details
- 18MP combined across both systems
Power: Why 802.3at Is Required
Official specifications: PoE IEEE 802.3at (48V Active), DC 12V 2A, power consumption <24W. 802.3at supports up to 30W per port, while this camera uses approximately 24W — exceeding the 802.3af (15.4W) range. Therefore, an 802.3at-compliant switch or 802.3at-compliant PoE NVR is required.
This is the point most likely to cause problems: if you connect it to an 802.3af switch, it may repeatedly restart or the pan-tilt unit may not move. Be sure to confirm that the switch supports 802.3at before purchasing.
- 802.3at is required
- An 802.3af switch may not provide sufficient power
- Otherwise, repeated restarts or a non-moving pan-tilt unit may occur
IP66 and Installation
IP66 means level 6 dust protection and level 6 water protection (protection against powerful water jets), one level below IP67 — long-term immersion or direct hosing is not recommended, but it is sufficient for Hong Kong rainfall. The operating temperature range is -10°C~+55°C, narrower than the -30°C range of fixed models.
At 1.3kg and 202×151×125mm, it must be installed on a sturdy surface; the rotating pan-tilt unit generates reactive force, and long-term installation on thin panels may cause loosening. We recommend securing it to concrete or brick walls and checking the screws annually.
- IP66 is sufficient for rain protection
- 1.3kg requires sturdy installation
- Check the screws annually
In-the-box contents
The following are the contents of the Hong Kong official-stock packaging. Actual accessories are subject to the shipment batch; if you have any questions, please confirm with us before placing your order.
- Specifications source: Reolink official product page specification table (extracted field by field). An IEEE 802.3at-compliant PoE switch or NVR is required (power consumption <24W); 802.3af does not provide sufficient power.
- Package contents are subject to Reolink's official shipping configuration; the official product page does not disclose the in-box contents item by item, so our store does not speculate about the quantity of accessories. If you need to confirm a specific accessory before ordering (bracket, screw pack, or whether a power adapter is included), please contact us first.
- Hong Kong official stock, 2-year manufacturer's warranty, and local support.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is 18MP from a single image?
No. The upper section is a 10MP(5120×1920)180° panoramic view, while the lower section is an 8MP(3840×2160)4K PTZ camera. They use two independent sensors, for a total of 18MP.
How does SyncTrack work?
When the panoramic camera detects a person → the PTZ camera automatically turns and zooms in to track them → after the target leaves, it returns to the guard position. Only one primary target can be locked at a time.
Is 802.3at required?
Yes. Power consumption is <24W, which exceeds the 802.3af(15.4W)range; using an af switch may cause restarting or prevent the PTZ camera from moving.
Can a 12V adapter be used?
Yes, the official specification is DC 12V 2A.
Is a 50° Tilt range sufficient?
It is designed primarily for horizontal scanning and slight vertical tilting, and is not suitable for viewing directly below. If you need to view the ground directly beneath the camera, install a separate fixed camera.
What is the waterproof rating?
IP66(dust protection 6, water protection 6, resistant to powerful water jets). Long-term immersion or high-pressure washing is not recommended.
Can it be connected to an NVR?
Yes; however, due to its relatively high power consumption, using a PoE NVR that supports 802.3at or a standalone at switch is recommended.
How many preset positions are supported?
Up to 64, plus 1 guard position.
Operating temperature?
The official specification is -10°C~+55°C, which is narrower than that of fixed models; take note in extreme environments.
Warranty?
Hong Kong-authorized product, 2-year original manufacturer warranty.
