Product Overview
The Reolink Altas Go PT is the most fully equipped model in this batch of 4G cameras: a 1/1.8" large sensor paired with an F1.0 wide aperture for ColorX full-color night vision, a 20000mAh (66Wh) battery, support for up to 512GB microSD, a 355°/90° pan-tilt mechanism, and auto tracking. It is designed as a standalone monitoring point that can replace several cameras.
Official Resolution 2560×1440 (4 megapixels) @15fps, 1/1.8" CMOS, f=4mm lens, F1.0, with a 108° diagonal, 104° horizontal, and 54° vertical field of view. The pixel count is not the highest, but its sensor area and aperture are the largest in this batch, delivering noticeably better full-color night vision.

Image Quality, Lens and Field of View
The key strength of this camera's image quality is not its pixel count, but its sensor. The 1/1.8" CMOS paired with an F1.0 aperture captures far more light than the common 1/2.7" and F1.6 combination found in this batch, allowing it to deliver ColorX full-color night vision in low light instead of relying solely on infrared for black-and-white footage.
With a resolution of 2560×1440 (4MP) @15fps and a field of view of 104° horizontally, 54° vertically, and 108° diagonally, it is designed for wide-angle coverage. The trade-off is that distant subjects appear smaller, while the benefit is a wider viewing area. Combined with the 355° pan-tilt mechanism, one camera can cover an entire courtyard or parking lot.
4G Connectivity and Network Operation
The built-in LTE module supports the European, American, and Australian frequency bands listed by the manufacturer. Simply insert a SIM card to use it—no Wi-Fi or network cable required. It supports up to 12 simultaneous streams, with client support for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android.
The manufacturer specifically states “Home Hub Compatibility: No”, meaning it cannot connect to the Reolink Home Hub. If you plan to use a Home Hub for centralized storage, this camera is not suitable. This is one of the easiest details to overlook when choosing a model.
- 4G LTE SIM Card Plug-and-Play
Power, Battery and Solar Charging
The battery is rated at 3.6V 20000mAh, which the manufacturer converts to 66Wh—the largest capacity among the 4G cameras in this batch, approximately 2.3 times that of the Go Plus. Charging is via USB Type-C (the manufacturer specifies that only a USB-A to USB-C cable is supported).
It can be paired with the Reolink Solar Panel 2 (6W) or Solar Panel 3 (12W). The combination of a large battery and a large solar panel is needed to support the “24/7 continuous recording” selling point; if continuous recording relies solely on the battery, runtime is measured in days.
- 20000mAh/66Wh (largest in this batch)
Night Vision, Detection and Alerts
The night vision setup consists of 3 × 1.4W 940nm infrared LEDs (10m) and 3 × 1.4W 6500K full-color lights. The F1.0 wide aperture allows it to produce color footage even in very low ambient light, which is the core of ColorX.
The PIR detection angle is 110° horizontally, with a detection distance adjustable up to 10m. It supports person, vehicle, and animal classification. Combined with auto tracking (explicitly supported by the manufacturer), the pan-tilt mechanism turns to follow moving objects when they are detected—a feature not available on the other models in this batch.
- 10m Infrared+3 × 6500K Full-Color Lights
Storage, App and Smart Home
It supports up to a 512GB microSD card—the largest capacity in this batch and four times that of the 128GB supported by other models. This is essential for continuous recording: 4MP continuous recording can generate several GB to more than 10GB per day, so 128GB will not last long.
The app supports live viewing, pan-tilt control, an auto-tracking toggle, playback, two-way audio, and push notifications. It is compatible with Google Assistant and can be used with Reolink Cloud (depending on the region). The manufacturer states that up to 12 simultaneous streams are supported.
Installation, Protection and Maintenance
The manufacturer rates it IP65 for outdoor use; it is not immersion-proof and cannot withstand high-pressure water jets. Measuring 178×151×102mm and weighing 875g, it is the largest and heaviest camera in this batch, so choose a mounting bracket with sufficient load capacity.
Operating temperature: -10°C to 55°C; humidity: 20%-85%. Large batteries age faster at high temperatures, so during Hong Kong summers, avoid installing it on a completely exposed west-facing metal surface.
- IP65 dustproof and water spray resistant

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the biggest difference between the Altas Go PT and Go PT Ultra?
The sensor, battery and features. The Altas Go PT has a 1/1.8" sensor with F1.0, a 20000mAh/66Wh battery, supports up to 512GB and continuous recording, and supports auto-tracking. The Go PT Ultra has a 1/2.7" sensor, 21.6Wh, 128GB, and only supports triggered recording. The Ultra has a higher image resolution (4K), but the Altas is clearly superior for full-colour night vision and battery life.
Does “24/7” mean it can record continuously all the time?
It is supported as a feature (the official specifications list a continuous recording mode), but it is not practical on battery power. Continuous recording will drain the 66Wh battery within a matter of days. For true 24/7 operation, it must be paired with Solar Panel 3 (12W) or placed in an area with stable sunlight.
Will auto-tracking make the footage unstable and difficult to use as evidence?
Yes. The viewing angle continuously changes during tracking, so the footage will appear to be “following the subject”. If you need stable footage for evidentiary purposes, we recommend turning off tracking and keeping detection notifications only, or installing an additional fixed-position camera.
How important is the 1/1.8" sensor?
It is crucial in low-light conditions. The larger sensor and F1.0 aperture allow more light to enter, making ColorX full-colour night vision possible. Other models in the same range use a 1/2.7" sensor with F1.6 and rely mainly on infrared black-and-white footage at night.
Does it support Reolink Home Hub?
No. The official specifications clearly state “Home Hub Compatibility: No”. If you plan to use a Home Hub for centralised storage, please choose another model.
Is a 512GB card really necessary?
It is useful for continuous recording. 4MP continuous recording can generate several GB to more than 10GB per day, so a 128GB card will be overwritten quickly. A 512GB card provides a more practical retention period.
Is 875g too heavy?
It is heavier than other models in the same range (most weigh 450-500g), so installation requires expansion screws secured into a concrete or brick wall. Thin panels, wooden boards or fences require additional reinforcement.
Want to know whether one Altas Go PT can cover your entire area?
Send us a floor plan or photos of the site, along with the distance at which you want to see clearly. We can help determine whether you need a 6W or 12W solar panel and whether a second camera is required to cover blind spots.
