Its 104° ultra-wide horizontal angle of view, combined with a bright F1.4 large aperture, delivers highly dynamic compositions, excellent low-light performance, and delicate, soft bokeh. The lens features an aperture ring1, providing users with precise, cinema-lens-like control when shooting video. This is Canon's first ultra-wide-angle lens to feature a fluorite lens element. One fluorite lens element, one BR lens element with anomalous dispersion properties that greatly refract blue light, one UD lens element, and three GMo aspherical lens elements effectively correct various aberrations at large apertures. It also incorporates SWC Subwavelength Structure Coating and ASC Air Sphere Coating to reduce the flare commonly found in ultra-wide-angle lenses
