Product Overview
Reolink Lumus is a compact outdoor fixed-lens camera: 4MP 2K, 1/2.7" sensor, and a 107° wide-angle view. It combines 10m infrared night vision with 2 spotlights for full-color night vision, while weighing just 168g and measuring 99×91×60mm. Its positioning is simple: a compact entry-level outdoor camera with no compromises.
It offers an official resolution of 2560×1440 (4 megapixels) @15fps, with an f=2.8mm, F2.0 lens and IR-cut filter. The field of view is 107° horizontally, 57° vertically, and 129° diagonally; infrared night vision reaches 10m (6 × 0.8W 850nm LEDs), while the 2 spotlights are rated at 1.6W and 6500K.
Wireless connectivity supports dual-band 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz/5GHz), with WPA/WPA2 encryption. Storage supports up to a 512GB microSD card. It is rated IP65, weighs 168g, and supports Google Assistant and Alexa.

Six Key Highlights
Field of View
107° Wide Angle
The Combination of a 107° Wide Angle and 4MP
The 107° horizontal field of view is one of the widest among the fixed-lens cameras in this lineup, with a 129° diagonal field of view. The advantage is that one camera can cover a broad area, making it suitable for locations such as parking spaces, back alleys, and fences where you do not want to install two cameras.
The trade-off is that distant subjects appear smaller: at a 107° wide angle, a person 15 meters away occupies only a small portion of the frame. If your priority is long-distance identification, choose a camera with optical zoom rather than relying on digital magnification.
- 107° horizontal/55° vertical/125° diagonal
- 2560×1440 4MP @15fps
- 1/2.7" CMOS|f=2.8mm F2.0
Spotlight Full-Color and Infrared Dual Modes
Night vision: 6 × 0.8W 850nm infrared LEDs provide a 10m black-and-white image; 2 × 1.6W 6500K spotlights provide color night vision and act as a deterrent. Compared with the single 4.3W spotlight on the W330, the Lumus distributes its light more evenly, but over a shorter distance.
Practical tip: for a parking space or entrance, set the camera to turn on the light when a person is detected. In a corridor or back alley where you do not want to draw attention, use infrared only.
- 10m Infrared (6 × 0.8W 850nm)
- 2 × 1.6W 6500K Spotlights
- Infrared-only mode or Full-Color mode with the lights on
Installation Flexibility with 168g and 99×91×60mm
The camera body weighs just 168g, making it the lightest outdoor camera in this lineup. This allows highly flexible installation: it can be mounted in a corner, under an eave, on top of a fence, or even secured to a metal bar with cable ties.
The trade-off for its light weight is reduced wind resistance and stability: the image may vibrate slightly when installed high up or in an exposed, windy location. A metal mount should be used and firmly secured; do not rely solely on adhesive.
- 99×91×60mm/168g
- Can be secured with a mounting base or cable ties
- Reinforcement required in windy locations
IP65 and Real-World Outdoor Conditions
The official IP65 rating provides dust protection and protection against water jets, making it suitable for outdoor use, but it is not waterproof against immersion and cannot withstand high-pressure water jets. The operating temperature is -10°C to 55°C.
The practical challenges in Hong Kong are heavy rain and humidity: keep the power connector facing downward, add waterproof tape or a waterproof box, and avoid mounting the camera where water can accumulate. Do this properly and even a compact camera can last for many years.
- IP65 Dustproof and Water-Jet Resistant
- Operating Temperature -10°C to 55°C
- Power port faces downward and is weatherproof
Dual-band Wi-Fi and storage
Wireless support for 802.11 a/b/g/n dual-band Wi-Fi: 2.4GHz offers better wall penetration, while 5GHz provides higher bitrates at short range. The 4MP bitrate is not particularly high, so 2.4GHz is generally sufficient; if the image frequently freezes, try 5GHz first.
Supports up to 512GB microSD, primarily for event-triggered recording; supports Reolink Cloud (subject to region). The app supports live viewing, playback, two-way audio, and push notifications.
- Dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4G/5G)
- Up to 512GB microSD
- Supports Google Assistant/Alexa
Suitable and unsuitable scenarios
Suitable: Locations such as the front of a parking space, back alleys, along fences, and shop side doors where you simply need to see whether someone passes by. The 107° wide-angle view and spotlight provide sufficient coverage at a low cost.
Not suitable: Locations where you need to identify faces or license plates from 15 meters away (the wide-angle view makes subjects appear too small), locations requiring coverage in multiple directions (fixed camera), or systems requiring 24/7 continuous recording (use PoE+NVR instead).
- Suitable for wide coverage at close range
- Not suitable for long-distance identification or panoramic coverage
- For continuous recording, use PoE+NVR

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the biggest difference between Lumus and W330?
Resolution, wide-angle coverage, and infrared range. W330 offers 4K 8MP, f=4.0mm with a narrower viewing angle (88.8°), 30 m infrared range, and IP67 protection; Lumus offers 4MP, a 107° wide-angle view, 10 m infrared range, IP65 protection, and weighs 168g. Choose W330 for longer-distance viewing, or Lumus for wider coverage and a lightweight design.
Will the 107° wide-angle view cause distortion?
There may be slight distortion around the edges, but this is normal for a wide-angle view. The proportions of people and objects in the center remain natural.
Is a 10 m infrared range sufficient?
It is sufficient for parking spaces, back alleys, and entrances. If you need to monitor an area more than 20 m away, choose the W330 with its 30 m infrared range.
Will the spotlight be too bright and disturb the neighbors?
The two 1.6W lights provide gentle illumination. In densely populated residential areas, we recommend setting them to activate only when motion is detected and adjusting the angle to avoid shining directly at the opposite building.
Can it record continuously 24/7?
The manufacturer does not list a continuous recording mode; this model uses event-triggered recording. For 24/7 recording, use a PoE model with an NVR.
What is the maximum supported microSD capacity?
The manufacturer specifies a maximum capacity of 512GB. A surveillance-grade card is recommended.
Can IP65 be used completely outdoors?
It can be used outdoors, but it is not protected against immersion or high-pressure water jets. Position the ports facing downward and apply additional waterproofing.
Will 168g be unstable?
It is fine for standard wall mounting. In windy locations or at high elevations, secure it with a metal mounting base rather than relying solely on adhesive pads.
Does it support Alexa/Google?
The official specifications list Google Assistant and Alexa, and both are supported.
Is one unit enough to cover a parking space?
Yes. At a height of 2.5-3 m, the 107° wide-angle view can cover one standard parking space and part of the access path.
Want to know the most effective placement for Lumus?
Send us a photo of the installation location and the area you want to monitor. We can help determine whether the 107° view is sufficient or whether you need the W330 with its 30 m infrared range.
