Product Overview
The Reolink E321 is the entry-level model in Reolink’s indoor pan-tilt camera range: 3MP (2304×1296), a 1/3" sensor, 355° horizontal and 90° vertical pan-tilt coverage, with support for auto-tracking and up to 512GB microSD storage. Its key advantage is delivering broad coverage and essential functionality for indoor monitoring at a lower budget.
It offers an official resolution of 2304×1296 (3 megapixels) @15fps, with an f=4mm, F2.0 lens equipped with IR-cut. The field of view is 77° horizontally and 41° vertically, with 12 m IR night vision. The pan-tilt range is 355°/90°, and the manufacturer explicitly states that auto-tracking is supported.
Wireless connectivity supports IEEE 802.11ax/b/g/n and 2.4GHz only, with WPA/WPA2/WPA3 encryption. Storage supports up to 512GB microSD. The camera measures Φ73×114mm, weighs 167g, and operates from -10°C to 55°C.

Is 3MP Enough?
2304×1296 is 2K-class resolution, with twice as many pixels as 1080p. For viewing people, pets, or door activity indoors, 3MP is sufficient for identification at a distance of 3-5 metres. If you need to see small objects on a desk or fine details at a distance, the 5MP E331 would be more suitable.
The 77° horizontal and 41° vertical field of view is relatively narrow, resulting in a larger subject at the same distance. Combined with the 355° pan range, you can cover the entire room by rotating the camera instead of forcing everything into an ultra-wide-angle view.
- 2304×1296 3MP @15fps
- Field of View 77°/41°
- f=4mm F2.0 with IR-cut
355°/90° Pan-Tilt with Auto-Tracking
The pan-tilt range is 355° horizontally and 90° vertically. When installed in a corner, point the 5° blind spot toward the wall to achieve virtually complete coverage. The 90° vertical range lets you view the floor, beside the bed, and pet cages.
The manufacturer explicitly states that Auto-Tracking is supported. For indoor use, tracking is helpful when the subject moves, such as a pet. If you are monitoring a fixed area, it is recommended to turn it off to prevent the camera view from constantly rotating.
- 355°/90° Pan-Tilt
- Supports Auto-Tracking
- Point the blind spot toward the wall
12 m IR Night Vision and Night-time Images
12 m IR night vision is more than sufficient for indoor rooms with a depth of 3-5 metres. Night-time footage is in black and white, and there is no spotlight, so full-colour night vision is not available.
To improve night-time image clarity, positioning is more important than the specifications: do not point the camera at a window, as the outside will be dark and the glass may reflect light; also avoid placing it too close to a corner, as IR light reflected from a white wall may cause overexposure.
- 12 m IR Night Vision
- Black-and-white night-time footage with no spotlight
- Avoid pointing at windows or placing it too close to walls to prevent reflections
Practical Impact of 2.4GHz Only
Wireless connectivity supports 802.11ax/b/g/n but operates on 2.4GHz only. The advantages are better wall penetration and broad compatibility; the downside is that 2.4GHz networks are extremely congested in Hong Kong homes, which may cause delays during busy periods.
If your home already has many devices using 2.4GHz, such as smart lights, smart plugs, or a doorbell, it is recommended to place the camera near the router, or switch to the 5GHz-compatible E331.
- Supports 2.4GHz Only
- Better wall penetration but more congested channels
- Recommended to install near the router
512GB Storage and Routine Maintenance
Supports up to 512GB microSD. Indoor activations are usually infrequent, so 512GB can store footage for a long time. We recommend using a high-endurance card designed for surveillance and regularly checking in the App that recording is working properly.
Maintenance only involves two things: cleaning the lens (dust can make infrared footage appear washed out) and checking that the power cable is not loose. The indoor camera has no waterproofing concerns.
- microSD up to 512GB
- Triggered recording as the main mode
- Clean the lens regularly
Size, Power Supply and Placement
Body Φ73×114mm, weight 167g, operating temperature -10°C to 55°C, humidity 20%-85%. Fully sufficient for indoor use; the official specifications do not state an IP waterproof rating, so do not install it in a bathroom.
The official spec sheet does not list power specifications, so we do not fill them in on your behalf; indoor pan-tilt cameras generally use USB power, so make sure there is a nearby socket when choosing a placement, and allow for sufficient cable length.
- Φ73×114mm/167g
- Not waterproof; do not install in a bathroom
- A nearby socket is required

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the main difference between the E321 and E331?
Resolution, sensor, and Wi-Fi. The E331 features 5MP, 1/2.7", F1.6, and dual-band Wi-Fi; the E321 features 3MP, 1/3", F2.0, and 2.4GHz only. The E321 is sufficient for indoor environments with adequate lighting; if the lighting is dim or you need clearer details, choose the E331.
Is 3MP good enough for nighttime viewing?
Yes, the 12-meter infrared range is sufficient for indoor rooms. However, 3MP provides less detail than 5MP in infrared black-and-white footage, so faces farther away may appear blurrier.
Will 2.4GHz only be fast enough?
It is generally sufficient for indoor use. If you have many 2.4GHz devices at home, there may be delays during busy periods. We recommend placing the camera near the router or choosing the E331, which supports 5GHz.
Is auto-tracking useful?
It depends on how you use it. It is useful for tracking moving pets, but we recommend turning it off when monitoring a fixed area, such as a crib or doorway.
Can it be installed in a bathroom?
Not recommended. The manufacturer has not specified an IP water-resistance rating, and steam and water splashes may affect its service life.
What is the maximum supported microSD capacity?
The official specification lists support for up to 512GB. We recommend using a surveillance-grade memory card.
Can one camera cover an entire living room?
With a 355° pan range and a 77° field of view, placing it in a corner can cover most of a living room. If you need to clearly monitor two areas that are far apart, we recommend using two cameras.
Does it support voice assistants?
The E321's official specification sheet does not list Smart Home compatibility, so we cannot guarantee support. Please confirm with us before placing an order if this is required.
Can it be wall-mounted?
The compact 167g body can generally be wall-mounted or placed on a flat surface. The official product information does not provide a detailed list of the included base and screws; please contact us if you need confirmation.
Where are recordings stored?
On the microSD card, using event-triggered recording. Reolink Cloud is also available as an option, depending on the region.
Looking for an affordable indoor pan-and-tilt camera?
Tell us the room size and the main area you want to monitor, and we can help you determine whether 3MP is sufficient or whether you should upgrade directly to the 5MP E331.
