Product Overview
The H4 PoE is a wired IP camera: one LAN cable handles both power and data transmission, so there is no need to run a separate power cable. This is the greatest value of PoE — as long as a network cable reaches the installation point, you do not need to look for a power socket or replace batteries regularly.
The specifications on this page are extracted from EZVIZ's official H4 PoE 2K product page: CS-H4-R201-1H3EKFL、1/2.8" Progressive Scan CMOS、2.8mm F1.6(106° horizontal/122° diagonal)、up to 2K 2304×1296(i.e. 3MP)、H.265/H.264、up to 30m infrared、RJ45 × 1(10M/100M)、DC 12V/1A or PoE power、up to 8W、IP67、-30°C~50°C、106×106×90mm/240g。
One naming difference should be clarified: the official page calls it “H4 PoE 2K”, while our store title says “3MP”. They refer to the same thing — 2304×1296 is 3MP, and EZVIZ commonly calls it 2K. This page states the official figures clearly, so customers do not need to convert them themselves.

The Real Benefit of PoE: One Cable Does It All
PoE(Power over Ethernet)delivers power and data simultaneously from a switch through an Ethernet cable. During installation, you only need to run one Cat5e/Cat6 cable — no need to find a power socket next to the camera, install a waterproof electrical box, or climb a ladder every few months to replace batteries.
The prerequisite is that you have a PoE switch or PoE injector. If you only have a single camera, buying an 802.3af PoE injector is cheaper than replacing the entire switch.
- One Ethernet Cable for Both Power and Data
- No Power Socket or Battery Required
- PoE Switch or Injector Required
2K(2304×1296)and 2.8mm Wide-Angle Lens
2304×1296 is a 3MP resolution, which EZVIZ calls 2K. The 2.8mm lens provides 106° horizontal/122° diagonal coverage, making it suitable for “wall-mounted installation, viewing an entire corridor or a single parking space”.
The SKU suffix in our store is -2-8MM, indicating the 2.8mm version; the same model is also available in a 4mm version(86° horizontal/102° diagonal), which has a narrower viewing angle but better detail at a distance. Before purchasing, decide whether you need to “see wider” or “see farther”.
- Native 3MP at 2304×1296
- 2.8mm 106° Horizontal
- 4mm Version Also Available
30m Infrared and IP67
The official specifications state up to 30m infrared range, IP67 dust and water resistance, and an operating temperature of -30°C to 50°C. IP67 means it can withstand short-term immersion in water, so long-term outdoor exposure to rain is not a problem — this is its most significant practical difference from indoor cameras.
30m infrared means that outlines can still be seen in complete darkness; it does not mean faces can still be recognised at 30m. The actual face recognition distance is usually within 10–15m and depends on the installation angle and reflective surfaces.
- Suitable for Long-Term Outdoor Use with IP67
- 30m Infrared(Face Recognition Approx. 10–15m)
- -30°C to 50°C
AI Human/Vehicle Detection and Two-Way Talk
The official specifications list motion detection, AI human detection and AI vehicle detection, along with two-way talk. As a wired camera does not need to sacrifice detection frequency to save power, AI filtering is mainly used to “reduce irrelevant notifications” rather than save battery power.
For parking spaces or driveways, vehicle detection can filter out pedestrians, cats and dogs; in corridors, human detection can filter out changes in lighting and curtains.
- AI Human/Vehicle Classification
- Supports Two-Way Talk
- Wired cameras don’t have to sacrifice detection to save power
Wired vs. Wireless: The Cable You Have to Accept
The biggest limitation of a PoE camera is that it requires a wired connection. If there is no network cable at the installation point and one cannot be run there, a PoE solution will not work — in this case, choose a 4G or Wi-Fi battery-powered camera instead.
Conversely, as long as a wired connection is available, PoE is the most stable solution: no Wi-Fi interference, no battery degradation, and no need to remember to recharge. Its total cost is usually the lowest for long-term use.
- A network cable must reach the installation point
- Highest stability with no battery degradation
- If a cable cannot be run, choose a 4G/Wi-Fi camera instead
Storage and System Compatibility
The official microSD card capacity is up to 512GB, and EZVIZ CloudPlay is also available by subscription. For centralized recording from multiple cameras, it can be used with an EZVIZ NVR, such as the X5S series.
The most valuable use of a PoE camera is actually to pair it with an NVR: one cable provides power, and all footage can be reviewed on a single timeline without inserting cards into each camera. If you plan to install three or more cameras, we recommend planning for an NVR from the beginning.
- microSD up to 512GB
- Supports centralized recording with an NVR
- An NVR is recommended for three or more cameras
Unboxing Checklist
The following is the contents of the Hong Kong official-stock package. Actual accessories may vary by shipment batch; if you have any questions, please contact us for confirmation before placing your order.
- Official package contents: camera, mounting base and screw pack, waterproof connector, and quick-start guide. A network cable, PoE switch/injector, and power adapter must be prepared separately.
- Package contents are based on Reolink’s official shipping configuration. The official product page does not disclose a detailed itemized packing list, so our store will not speculate on the quantity of accessories. If you need to confirm a specific accessory before placing your order, such as the bracket, screw pack, or whether a power adapter is included, please contact us first.
- Hong Kong official stock, 2-year original manufacturer warranty, and local support.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a PoE switch?
Yes, or you can use a single-port PoE injector. If you only have one camera, an injector is cheaper than replacing the switch.
Can I use a standard 12V power adapter?
Yes. The official power requirements are DC 12V/1A or PoE; either option is supported.
What is the difference between 2K and 3MP?
They are the same. 2304×1296 is 3MP, which EZVIZ calls 2K. Our store title says 3MP, while the official page says 2K—the specifications are the same.
How far can the night vision see?
The official infrared range is up to 30 meters; in practice, faces can be identified from within approximately 10–15 meters.
Is it waterproof?
It is officially rated IP67, offering protection against dust and short-term water immersion, making it suitable for long-term outdoor use.
Can I insert a microSD card?
Yes, it officially supports up to 512GB.
Is this the 2.8mm or 4mm version?
Our store's SKU suffix is -2-8MM, indicating the 2.8mm version (106° horizontal viewing angle). Please contact us if you need the 4mm version.
Can it record 24/7?
Yes. PoE wired power eliminates the need to worry about batteries, making it suitable for continuous recording; pairing it with an NVR or high-capacity card is recommended.
