Product Overview
The DP2C combines a door viewer, doorbell, and camera in one: it directly replaces the existing peephole on your front door, with a 4.3-inch color screen mounted on the inside. When someone rings the bell or walks past outside, the screen lights up instantly to display the view. Installation requires no wiring or power outlet, and it can be powered by AA batteries or the built-in rechargeable battery.
All specifications on this page have been extracted field by field from the specifications table on EZVIZ's official product page: CS-DP2C, 1/3" CMOS, 2.0mm F2.2 diagonal 155°, 1080p/2MP, 15fps, up to 5m infrared range, PIR 110°/up to 6m, 4.3-inch color screen, microSD up to 512GB, DC 5V (最大 2.2W), -10°C~45°C, body dimensions 115.5×85.5×24.5mm/302g.
It is particularly suitable for rental units and older buildings: there is no need to drill holes or run wires outside the door, and no landlord approval is required for modifications. As long as the door has an existing peephole (hole diameter 16.5–50mm, door thickness 35–105mm), it can be replaced directly. When moving out, simply reinstall the original peephole.

Why a Door Viewer Camera Is More Practical Than a Doorbell
Most residential front doors in Hong Kong already have a peephole. Traditional video doorbells need to be installed on the exterior wall, requiring drilling and consideration of weatherproofing. Renters are often unable to make such modifications. A door viewer camera installs directly onto the existing peephole, with a screen indoors, fully within the scope of what is normally permitted under a tenancy agreement.
Another practical advantage is that you can see outside without being seen from outside: the screen is indoors, while people outside only see a discreet camera ring, making it much less noticeable than a doorbell camera mounted on the exterior of the door.
- Directly Replaces the Existing Peephole
- No Drilling or Landlord Approval Required
- Discreet Exterior Design
1080p and 155° Ultra-Wide Angle
The official specifications list 1080p/2MP, a 2.0mm lens, and a diagonal viewing angle of 155°. This viewing angle is wide enough to cover the entire corridor outside the door, from one wall to the opposite wall, including blind spots close to the door. Traditional peepholes offer a much narrower field of view and often only show the other person's clothing.
Keep in mind the optical limitations of a door viewer camera: an ultra-wide angle inevitably causes edge distortion, and facial details at a distance are limited. It is designed to let you see what is happening outside and record visitors, rather than identify someone 10 meters away.
- 155° Covers the Entire Corridor
- Much Wider Field of View Than a Traditional Peephole
- Limited Long-Distance Identification
PIR Detection and Two-Way Talk
The official specifications indicate 110° PIR coverage, a maximum range of 6 meters, and adjustable sensitivity. PIR uses heat detection, which consumes less power than image comparison and is less likely to trigger false alerts due to changes in corridor lighting.
Two-way talk is supported both locally (via the indoor screen) and remotely (via the mobile app). This is highly practical: when a delivery arrives at your door, you can use the app to speak with the courier even when you are not at home and ask them to leave the package in a designated location.
- PIR Heat Detection for Fewer False Alerts
- Adjustable Sensitivity
- Talk via Either the Indoor Screen or Mobile App
Storage: microSD up to 512GB
The official specifications indicate support for microSD cards up to 512GB. For 1080p event recordings, a 128GB card can store several months of footage. If you choose cloud storage, an EZVIZ CloudPlay subscription is required (additional charges apply).
Local storage has the advantage of no monthly fees, with recordings kept in your own possession. The downside is that there is no backup if the card is removed or damaged. If you need reliable evidence, it is recommended to enable cloud storage as well or back up recordings regularly.
- Up to 512GB microSD
- 128GB Can Store Several Months of Event Recordings
- Cloud storage is optional and requires a subscription
Installation: Measure three dimensions first
The official specifications list three key dimensions: peephole diameter 16.5–50mm, door thickness 35–105mm, and screen dimensions 115.5×85.5×24.5mm. Measurements are required before ordering, especially for old-building combinations of iron gates and wooden doors — if the door is too thick (over 105mm), it cannot be installed.
Power supply: DC 5V (max. 2.2W). No electrician is required for installation, but Wi-Fi (2.4GHz, 802.11 b/g/n) is needed for initial setup.
- First measure the peephole diameter: 16.5–50mm
- Door thickness must not exceed 105mm
- Supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only
Suitable and unsuitable scenarios
Suitable for: rental units, old buildings, households that do not want to drill holes in the exterior of the door, and families who need a clear view of the corridor outside the door.
Not suitable for: main doors without a peephole, doors thicker than 105mm, those hoping to identify faces 10 metres away, or situations requiring outdoor waterproofing (this unit consists of an indoor screen and an exterior camera, and no IP rating is officially specified).
- Suitable for rental units and old buildings
- Requires an existing peephole
- Not suitable for direct outdoor exposure
