8MP Image Quality and Lens
The P334 has an official resolution of 3840x2160 (8MP) @25fps, with a fixed f=4.0mm lens and F=2.0 (IR-cut).
The field of view is 87° horizontal / 44° vertical. This is a standard viewing angle: with the same lens, a narrower angle provides clearer details at a distance but covers a smaller area at once; a wider angle covers more area, at the cost of greater edge distortion and less sharpness in distant details.
In practice, measure the distance from the installation point to the target first, then decide whether to mount the camera higher or lower. The actual ground coverage can differ greatly when the same camera is mounted at 2.8 meters versus 3.5 meters high.
Infrared Night Vision and Color Night Vision
The P334’s infrared night vision reaches up to 30 meters (100ft), with 18 infrared LEDs / 850nm.
Color night vision: supported, with 1 spotlight / 4.3W / 6500K / 700 lumens. Infrared footage is in black and white, offering greater discretion without startling passersby. Color night vision uses the spotlight for illumination and can preserve color information such as clothing and vehicle colors when needed, which is useful for identification afterward.
During installation, avoid pointing the lens directly at a white wall or metal awning. Reflected infrared light may cause overexposure in the center of the image while making the surrounding area difficult to see. If this cannot be avoided, tilting the camera downward by 10 to 15 degrees usually provides a significant improvement.
Smart Detection and Notifications
The P334 supports person, vehicle, animal, and motion detection. Detection is completed on the camera, and notifications are pushed only when the specified target types are detected. This filters out common false triggers from traditional motion detection, such as rain, moving tree shadows, and changes in lighting.
Notifications can be enabled or disabled individually. If you want to receive person alerts but do not want to be woken up by cats or dogs at night, simply turn off animal detection notifications while continuing to retain the recordings. Settings can be adjusted for each camera in the Reolink App.
When recording with a microSD card or NVR, you can tap directly into the relevant clip when a notification arrives, without manually dragging along the timeline.
PoE Power and Network Connection
P334 power specification: IEEE 802.3af, 48V Active. One network cable provides both power and video transmission, so no separate power cable or outlet is needed at the camera location. This is the cleanest solution for locations such as exterior walls, ceilings, and village house rooftops where network cabling is available but no power outlet is present.
The network interface is 1× 10M/100Mbps RJ45. The power source can be a PoE-enabled Reolink NVR or an independent PoE Switch (which must comply with the standards listed above).
The practical advantage of a wired connection is stable bandwidth: wireless cameras may drop frames or experience delays when multiple people are viewing live footage simultaneously or when there is heavy interference from nearby Wi-Fi networks, whereas PoE does not.
Storage, Playback and Backup
P334 storage options: microSD up to 256GB; compatible with Reolink NVR.
A microSD solution is suitable for scenarios where only a few days of footage need to be retained and a single camera is the main focus. An NVR solution is suitable for multiple cameras, footage retention for several weeks, or reviewing footage from multiple angles at once. Both can be used together: microSD as backup and NVR as the primary storage.
We recommend using a surveillance-grade microSD card with high write endurance and resistance to high and low temperatures. Standard phone cards can easily fail after several months of continuous writing, usually without warning.
App, Two-Way Talk and Remote Viewing
P334 audio: built-in microphone (for recording; the official specifications do not list a speaker).
In the Reolink App, press and hold the talk button to speak to people on-site. This is useful for receiving packages at the door, reminding customers in a shop, or asking someone to move a vehicle from a parking space.
Remote viewing is available through the Reolink App (iOS/Android). Multiple cameras can be added to the same account, with split-screen viewing supported. You can also create sub-accounts with viewing-only permissions, without access to change settings or delete recordings.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is PoE? Do I need to buy any additional equipment?
PoE means "Power over Ethernet": a single LAN cable transmits both power and video. This model uses the IEEE 802.3af power standard with 48V Active. You need a power source that complies with this standard, such as a PoE-enabled Reolink NVR or a standalone PoE switch. The camera itself does not include a power supply.
What is the biggest difference between the P334 and P330?
According to the official specifications, there is 1 main difference: the lens (f=4.0mm fixed vs. f=2.8mm fixed). The other specifications are similar between the two models. When choosing, first consider whether you need "fixed wide-angle coverage" or "adjustable focus for viewing distant objects", then decide based on your power supply budget.
Which one should I choose? Is there a simple rule of thumb?
Choose based on the installation distance: for coverage of an entire wall within 3 m → choose a fixed wide-angle model (P334 / P330); for recognizing license plates or faces at 5 to 15 m → choose a model with optical zoom (P330); for 360° patrol coverage → choose a PTZ model. These three types should not be compared solely by price, as they are designed to solve different problems.
Do I have to run a network cable? Can I use Wi-Fi?
This is a wired PoE model and does not support Wi-Fi. Its advantages are a stable connection with no dropped frames, and no need to find a power outlet at the camera location. The limitation is that a network cable must be able to reach the installation point. If it is genuinely impossible to run a cable to the installation location, choose a Wi-Fi or 4G model from the same series instead.
Is the night vision actually clear?
The official specifications state that the IR night vision range is up to 30 m (100ft); it has 18 IR LEDs / 850nm. Full-color night vision is supported, with 1 spotlight / 4.3W / 6500K / 700 lumens. Actual image clarity is affected by the ambient light at the site. In complete darkness, the image will be black-and-white infrared footage. Avoid pointing the lens directly at a white wall or metal surface to reduce reflective overexposure.
How long can the recordings be retained? Is there a monthly fee?
This model supports microSD storage up to 256GB and can be paired with a Reolink NVR, with no monthly fee required. Retention time depends on the card/hard drive capacity, resolution, and recording mode (continuous or motion-triggered only). For longer-term storage, we recommend pairing it with an NVR and using a surveillance-grade hard drive.
Does this camera support two-way talk?
Yes. The official specifications list audio as an "inbuilt microphone (recording)" and do not specify a speaker. In the App, press and hold the talk button to speak to people at the location.
How wide is the camera's field of view? What installation locations is it suitable for?
The official field of view is horizontal 87° / vertical 44°. This model has a fixed focal length, so please confirm that the coverage area is sufficient before purchasing. Before installation, we recommend measuring the distance from the installation point to the target area, then deciding on the mounting height and angle.
Is this a Hong Kong official product? How many years is the warranty?
Yes, this is a Hong Kong official product and comes with a local warranty certificate. The warranty period is 2 years. Non-Hong Kong official products generally only come with the seller's own warranty; repairs must be sent back to the country of origin, with the time and shipping costs borne by the customer.
Overseas parallel imports are cheaper. Are they worth buying?
Not recommended. Overseas versions may differ from Hong Kong versions in voltage, plugs, App regional services, and warranty coverage, with no local support if problems arise. We only guarantee Hong Kong official products; versions shipped from overseas warehouses (Australia, the UK, Germany, Singapore, Canada, the US, Malaysia, France, and Dubai) are not covered by our warranty.
Want to confirm whether this model is suitable for your installation environment?
Send us a photo or floor plan of the installation location. Based on the site conditions, we will recommend the number of cameras, power supply method, and cable length to help you avoid purchasing the wrong specifications.
