Product Overview

The P320 is a wired network camera in Reolink's PoE series. It is officially rated at 2880x1616 (5MP) @30fps, with a fixed f=2.8mm lens and F=1.6 (IR-cut). It is designed as a fixed-installation solution where one network cable handles both power and video transmission. The camera location does not require a nearby power outlet, and there is no frame dropping caused by wireless interference.

All specifications on this page are taken from the Specifications table on Reolink's official product page, without estimation or conversion. For items not officially listed, such as the enclosure protection rating of certain models, we will not add information ourselves and will state this below.

If you are unsure how many cameras you need or whether an NVR is required, send us your floor plan or on-site photos before placing an order. We will make recommendations based on your actual environment.

5MP Image Quality and Lens

The P320 has an official resolution of 2880x1616 (5MP) @30fps, with a fixed f=2.8mm lens and F=1.6 (IR-cut).

The field of view is 110° horizontal/57° vertical. This is a wide-angle perspective: with the same lens, a narrower field of view provides clearer distant details but covers a smaller area at once; a wider field of view covers more area, at the cost of greater edge distortion and less defined distant details.

In practice, first measure the distance from the installation point to the target area, then decide whether to mount the camera higher or lower. The actual ground coverage can differ greatly when the same camera is mounted at 2.8 metres versus 3.5 metres.

IR Night Vision and Color Night Vision

The P320's IR night vision reaches up to 30 metres (100ft); it uses 2 IR LEDs / 1.8W / 850nm.

Color night vision: supported, with 1 spotlight / 4.3W / 6500K / 700 lumens. IR footage is black and white, offering discreet operation without startling passers-by; color night vision uses the spotlight for illumination, preserving color information such as clothing and vehicle colors when needed, which can be practically helpful for identification afterwards.

During installation, avoid pointing the lens directly at a white wall or metal awning, as reflected IR light can cause overexposure in the center of the image while making the surroundings difficult to see. If this cannot be avoided, tilting the camera downward by 10 to 15 degrees usually provides a noticeable improvement.

Smart Detection and Notifications

The P320 supports person, vehicle, animal, and motion detection. Detection is performed on the camera, and notifications are pushed only when the selected target category is detected. This filters out common false triggers from traditional motion detection, such as rain, moving tree shadows, and changing lighting.

Notifications can be enabled or disabled individually. If you want to receive person alerts but do not want cats or dogs waking you up at night, simply turn off animal detection notifications; recording will continue as normal. Settings can be adjusted for each camera in the Reolink App.

When recording with a microSD card or NVR, you can tap the notification to view the relevant clip directly when it arrives, without manually dragging the timeline.

PoE Power and Network Connection

P320 power specifications: IEEE 802.3af, 48V Active. One network cable provides both power and video transmission, so no separate power cable or outlet is required at the camera location. This is the cleanest solution for locations such as exterior walls, ceilings, and village-house rooftops where there is a network point but no power outlet.

The network interface is 1× 10M/100Mbps RJ45. Power can be supplied by a PoE-compatible Reolink NVR or a standalone PoE Switch (which must comply with the standards listed above).

The practical advantage of a wired connection is stable bandwidth: wireless cameras may experience frame drops and delays when multiple people are viewing live video simultaneously or when there is heavy interference from nearby Wi-Fi networks, while PoE does not.

Storage, Playback and Backup

P320 storage options: microSD up to 512GB; compatible with Reolink NVR.

The microSD option is suitable for scenarios requiring only a few days of storage and primarily using a single camera. An NVR is better for multiple cameras, several weeks of retention, or reviewing footage from multiple angles at once. Both can be used together: microSD as a backup and NVR as the primary storage.

We recommend using a surveillance-grade microSD card (with high write endurance and resistance to high and low temperatures). Ordinary phone cards can easily fail after several months of continuous writing, and card failure usually occurs without warning.

App, Two-Way Talk and Remote Viewing

P320 audio: built-in microphone and speaker (supports two-way audio).

In the Reolink App, press and hold the talk button to speak to people on site. This is useful for receiving package deliveries at the door, notifying customers in a shop, or reminding someone to move a vehicle from a parking space.

Remote viewing is available through the Reolink App (iOS/Android). Multiple cameras can be added to the same account, with split-screen viewing supported. You can also create sub-accounts with viewing-only permission, without allowing users to change settings or delete recordings.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is PoE? What equipment do I need to purchase separately?
PoE means "Power over Ethernet": a single LAN cable transmits both power and video. This model uses the IEEE 802.3af power standard with 48V Active. You need a power source that complies with this standard: a PoE-compatible Reolink NVR or a standalone PoE Switch. The camera itself does not include a power adapter.
What is the biggest difference between the P320 and P330?
According to the official specifications, there is 1 main difference: resolution (5 MP vs. 8 MP). The other specifications are similar. When choosing, first consider whether you need "fixed wide-angle coverage" or "adjustable focus for distant subjects," then decide based on your power supply budget.
How should I choose? Is there a simple rule of thumb?
Choose based on the installation distance: within 3 meters, when you need to cover an entire wall → choose a fixed wide-angle model (P320 / P330); at 5 to 15 meters, when you need to identify license plates or faces → choose a model with optical zoom (P330); if you need 360° patrol coverage → choose a PTZ model. These three types should not be compared solely by price because they solve different problems.
Do I have to run a network cable? Can I use Wi-Fi?
This is a wired PoE model and does not support Wi-Fi. Its advantages are a stable connection with no dropouts, and no need to find a power source at the camera location; the limitation is that a network cable must be routed to the installation point. If it is genuinely impossible to run a cable to the installation location, choose a Wi-Fi or 4G model from the same series instead.
How clear is the actual night vision?
Officially rated infrared night vision reaches up to 30 meters (100ft); 2 infrared LEDs / 1.8W / 850nm; full-color night vision is supported, with 1 spotlight / 4.3W / 6500K / 700 lumens. Actual image clarity depends on the ambient lighting conditions. In complete darkness, the image will be black-and-white infrared. Avoid pointing the lens directly at white walls or metal surfaces to reduce reflective overexposure.
How long can recordings be retained? Is a monthly fee required?
This model supports microSD storage up to 512GB; it can be paired with a Reolink NVR, with no monthly fee required. Retention time depends on the card/hard drive capacity, resolution, and recording mode (continuous or motion-triggered only). For long-term storage, we recommend pairing it with an NVR and using a surveillance-grade hard drive.
Does this camera support two-way talk?
Yes. The official specifications state: “Built-in microphone and speaker (supports two-way audio).” In the App, press and hold the talk button to speak to people at the location.
How wide is the camera’s field of view? What types of installation locations is it suitable for?
The official field of view is Horizontal 110° / Vertical 57°. This model has a fixed focal length, so please confirm that the coverage is sufficient before purchasing. Before installation, we recommend measuring the distance from the installation point to the target, then deciding on the mounting height and angle.
Is this a Hong Kong genuine product? How many years of warranty are included?
It is a Hong Kong genuine product and comes with a local warranty certificate and a 2-year warranty. Non-Hong Kong genuine products generally only come with seller-provided warranty coverage; repairs must be sent back to the country of origin, with the time and shipping costs borne by the customer.
Overseas parallel imports are a little cheaper. Are they worth buying?
Not recommended. Overseas versions may differ from Hong Kong versions in voltage, plug type, App regional services, and warranty coverage, with no local support if problems arise. We only guarantee Hong Kong genuine products. Versions shipped from overseas warehouses (Australia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Singapore, Canada, the United States, Malaysia, France, Dubai) are not covered by our warranty.

Want to confirm whether this model is suitable for your installation environment?

Send us photos or a floor plan of the installation location. Based on the site conditions, we can recommend the number of cameras, power supply method, and cable length to help you avoid purchasing the wrong specifications.
